Temporary Part-Time Marketing Assistant, through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Summer Student to undertake a variety of marketing and administrative tasks for Kamloops Hospice Association.

Hours:   26 hours a week from May 24- August 20, 2021, flexible for weekends.

Wage:  $18/hr

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for updating social media sites
  • Assist with developing marketing materials
  • Assist with development of advertising campaigns
  • Update the website
  • Reviewing materials and communications for previous events to help improve marketing
  • Interfacing with the public and sponsors
  • Preparing communication and marketing materials for events
  • Researching sponsors and prize donors to prepare sponsor’s stories for website and Facebook
  • Drafting letters and emails to request sponsors and to thank donors
  • Drafting press releases about events
  • Preparing and scheduling Facebook posts;
  • Helping draft automated letters in our donor management system for donor stewardship
  • Covering front desk in the absence of regular staff
  • Helping with general administration including document management
  • Distribution of marketing materials

Required Qualifications

  •  Currently a post secondary student in a relatable field
  • Must be between 15-30 as per Canada Summer Grant Program, returning to school in September 2021
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Compassionate, must have sensitivity & understanding of the issues unique to Hospice/Palliative Care.
  • Have a respectful, friendly & professional manner when dealing with the public, guests, family members and coworkers

Housekeeper – Permanent Part Time

Term of Employment:    Permanent, part-time

Hours of Employment:  Weekends only; 7am – Noon; Saturday and Sunday (10 hours/week); Flexible to occasionally work up to 25 hours/week to cover other team member’s holidays or special events and projects

Job Description

The goal is to keep our building clean, sanitized and safe for patients, staff and families.


  • Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, wet-washing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, patient and staff rooms, and shared common areas etc)
  • Clean and disinfect washrooms and kitchen areas
  • Strip and make beds; pick up soiled laundry and linens
  • Clean and disinfect nursing stations and staff lunch rooms, meeting rooms etc.
  • Clean and wet wipe High touch surfaces and furniture; Clean upholstered furniture and carpets by vacuuming, shampooing (as needed), and brushing
  • Take out trash and water plants as needed
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs (ie) (replacing light bulbs, broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.)
  • Stock, monitor and maintain disposable supplies
  • Cooperate with the rest of the staff
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned which could include heavy cleansing tasks and special projects


  • Proven working experience as a Cleaner or related/similar experience in a healthcare setting
  • Takes pride in work and creating a clean/safe environment for patients and families
  • Ability to handle cleaning equipment and tools
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies and safe handling
  • High school diploma
  • Clean criminal record
  • Will consider a candidate with a passion for hospice care and willingness to learn
