Celebrate a Life campaign aims to raise enough money for groceries for a year

KAMLOOPS — The annual Celebrate A Life campaign is underway at the Northills Shopping Centre.

The craft sale and Memory Tree are part of a fundraiser for the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home.

New Palliative Care Resources come with Kamloops Hospice expansion

KAMLOOPS — What was once just a dream has now become reality.

Following a generous donation from the Cooper Family Foundation, the Kamloops Hospice Association unveiled its new community resource centre this afternoon.

The 4,000 square foot expansion to the end-of-life facility includes space for therapy, counselling, and education.

Last year we raised over $165,000 thanks to the generous contributions from our local Community and this year, with your help, we expect to surpass this amount.

Grieve, Gather, Grow – we have a made a commitment in our Community to ensure no one has to be alone in their grief.  Funds raised will support adults, children and families through groups and workshops.

We are excited to welcome guests with our Cocktail Reception ~ enjoy a chance to mingle with friends in our Market atmosphere, listen to great music.

The evening will include a large Silent Auction, Live Auction with unique experiences, fundraising activities and dancing to the popular DJ Music by Iain McKee.

Exploring Relaxation Workshop

This workshop is designed for individuals living with a life limiting illness and will support participants in reducing stress and increasing overall sense of well being.

Explore mindfulness practices in supportive positions to experience deep relaxation.  Participants are welcome to bring a companion and adaptations can be made for all physical abilities.

Tuesdays (Starting August 13th) at 10:30 am in our NEW Cooper Community Resource Centre

60 minute sessions facilitated by a Wellness Practitioner and Hospice Volunteers.

Family Caregiver Workshops

Are you caring for someone who has been diagnosed with a life limiting illness?

Please join us for one or all of the 6 workshops.

They are offered every Monday at 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm at our New Cooper Community Resource Centre at Kamloops Hospice Association.

Free Caregiver Workshops will explore tips, tools and techniques to equip yourself to be a confident Caregiver.
