About the Cooper Community Resource Centre
In April 2019 we opened the doors to our new Cooper Community Resource Centre, a 4000 sq ft building attached to the existing Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home. It includes comfortable state of the art training and workshop spaces for therapy, counselling and education. Skilled Hospice staff have been able to utilize this new space to share their expertise with patients, families and the community.
Workshops will continue to evolve but have included:
- Advanced Care Planning
- Workshops for Family Caregivers (Currently offered Virtually)
- Navigating Holidays in Grief
- Men’s, Women’s & Children’s Grief Groups
- Relaxation Workshops
- Professional Presentations
Whether attending a workshop, counselling or other event – our guests are surrounded by stunning gardens and year round breath taking views.
Truly an amazing gift – The Cooper Family Foundation chose Hospice as the first beneficiary for their community giving projects. The Foundation raised funds for the project via Wings Above Kamloops, an endeavour that saw the organization build and auction a house in Aberdeen. Construction started in 2018 and by Spring 2019 we were able to open our doors. We are very grateful to the countless skilled tradespeople and community members who supported this initiative through sponsorships and partnerships.
