Position: Assistant Store Manager

Regular work schedule: Tuesday to Saturday; flexibility in shifts including evenings is required at certain times depending on business needs

Flutter Buys Thrift Store is an integral part of Kamloops Hospice Association’s annual funding strategy. All monies raised at Flutter Buys stays local and has a direct impact in delivery of our mission.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Store Manager as part of the paid staff team, the Assistant Store Manager will be a hands-on position that will work along side volunteers in both the back and front of the store receiving, sorting, stocking and merchandising donated goods for sale.

The ideal candidate is a retail enthusiast who is service oriented, can maintain their composure, has the ability to communicate, build relationships and have a direct impact to the success of Flutter Buys and Kamloops Hospice.

This position will support the Store Manager with recruitment, training and supervision of the store’s volunteer workforce. There are 45+ volunteers that support the store’s successful operation. As such, this position is integral to ensuring that volunteers are engaged and feel well supported each day.

Kamloops Hospice asks for donations during National Hospice Palliative Care Week

KAMLOOPS — This week is National Hospice Palliative Care Week, and the Kamloops Hospice Association is working out a way to hold an annual fundraiser virtually.

The Hospice Association was planning to host its annual Evening to Remember fundraiser at the Coast Hotel this Saturday (May 9).

It’s the single largest fundraiser for the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home and was set to raise $170,000.  While people are no longer able to buy tickets for large gatherings, the Hospice Association is hoping people will donate instead.
