Director of Operations – Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations plays a critical role in leading the day-to-day effectiveness of Kamloops Hospice in accordance with our vision, mission, and values to enhance the quality of life of person and their families facing death through skills and compassionate care.
The role is responsible for overseeing operational functions including finance, reception, purchasing, infrastructure and maintenance, IT, health and safety, risk management, licensing, organizational agreements, contract management, social enterprise and other revenue related programs/initiatives. The goal of this position is to ensure Kamloops Hospice achieves optimum productivity and effectiveness in business operations.
The Director of Operations has a strong business management and leadership background and knows how to resolve problems quickly and effectively. This position is responsible for managing many support programs and services, as well as developing the organizational and program budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director.
As a member of the management team, this role will contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies, and practices.
A degree in Business Administration or Accounting which includes a minimum of 5 years’ experience in organizational management and leadership of people. An equivalent of experience, skills and experience may be considered.
